Carmen Montoya is a mixed media digital artist. She holds a dual BA in Philosophy and Women's Studies from Loyola University—Chicago and is currently working towards an MFA in Digital Media from Rhode Island School of Design. Her research interests include, the theological haunting of technology, electroacoustic instrument building and performance, and self transgressive lived experiments as art practice. In addition to her studio work, she plays prepared piano in the MIG ensemble at Brown University and is coconspiritor in Aphasia Project, a multimedia performance duet, with composer Kevin Patton.
